The Planning Department is responsible for administration and processing of applications for rezoning, division of land, subdivisions and other land use issues. The Planning Department also is responsible for long range planning for growth, affordable housing, economic development, and adequate infrastructure, and community appearance. Both long range (future) and comprehensive (current) planning in the city involve a continued commitment to engage the community in this on-going process.  We strive to assure maximum public involvement; which, when combined with accurate information dissemination, leads to our goal of furthering a common development vision for the City of Buffalo.
